Domain Expiry - Every domain name registration remains in effect from 1-10 years from its Creation Date. If a domain name is not Renewed, after its registration period ends, the domain name is considered to be Expired.

Domain Renewal Hold Period - This is the period AFTER the domain name has Expired and BEFORE the Domain Name is Deleted. When a domain name is on Renewal Hold, any website associated with it is automatically disabled.

Domain Deletion [generally] - If a domain name is not Renewed AFTER its Expiry, it goes on Renewal Hold for a said number of days, depending upon the concerned Registrar's Policies, ranging from 1 to 45 days. Once the Renewal Hold Period ends and the domain name is still not Renewed, it is Deleted from that Registrar's database.

Domain Renewal Hold Period
===============

Earlier - 40 days

This allows your Customers more time to Renew their domain name, before it gets Deleted and goes in the dreaded Redemption Grace Period [RGP], in the case of, .COM and .NET domains. Now your Customers have ample time to Renew their domain names, before someone else manages to grab hold of them.

All your Customers' Expired domain names, that were about to get Deleted within 15 days, will be now getting Deleted in Expiry Date + 40 days.

Expired Domain Name Parking Page
=======================

Earlier - Your Customer used to realise only after a few days, that the reason their website is not visible in a browser, is because, their domain name has Expired. They would then, generally, try to get in touch with their Web Hosting Service Provider, and in effect it used to cause a lot of delay and confusion, regarding this issue.

Now - Your Customer will be shown a Parking Page, that is branded with your Logo and information, telling him -

1. the Customer's domain name has Expired

2. the domain name's Registrant Name and Company Name

3. a link to Renew the domain name with you

4. your Contact Details

Upon seeing this page, your Customer will surely renew his domain name by clicking on the link provided. This will also enlighten your Customer with the reason for the website downtime and the initiative that he can take to resolve this situation.
