Downloading Themes
If you would like to customize your own theme, please go to the following URL for the themes CPanel has available for download in tar.gz format:
http://layer1.cpanel.net/themes
Creating Themes
To create a theme you'll need to grab one of the templates from the link above and go through changing the templates as needed, or viewing the code for each page to see what specialized cpanel tags you'll need to bring over and how each tag works. It's best to have the same theme you're working on used with one of your accounts and open in your browser so you can see what the cpanel tag gets replaced with.
The process of creating an original theme can be long and frustrating, so prepare yourself to really dig in if you wish to do an overhauled makeover to a theme.
Using Themes
To use a custom theme, you must first make sure it's been added to WHM. If you have not contacted staff to add your theme, then it will not be accessable. To have your theme added, upload your theme to a directory of your choice ABOVE the public_html directory. It's suggested that you use a directory such as cpaneltheme, themes, or skins to store your themes in and then create a subdirectory under there with each theme's name as well as the theme's files in that directory. Now submit a support ticket at the Support Desk (http://helpdesk.flashwebhost.com) with the account name it's under (the username for the account and the domain name). When staff have a chance to add the theme they will reply & close the ticket confirming it's been added. You will then be able to choose your theme from the dropdown list.
To use a theme that has been setup for you or is already in the system with existing accounts that are currently using another theme, first login to WHM. Choose the "Modify Account" option located in the Accounts section. Choose the account you wish to change the theme for then click the button to continue to the next screen. On the newly displayed screen there will be a dropdown menu with all the themes on the server listed. Select the theme you wish to change for the account and then submit the form. Please wait around 30 seconds to a minute for the script to finish processing your theme change request before exiting or doing anything futher.
Demo Themes/Accounts
If you wish to have a Demo Account for potential users you will need to do one of the following:
Take screenshots and post them onto your site.
Take the main page for the theme, replace anything that would normally display data with fake information and replace the urls or paths in links with the pound sign (#).
Download one of the themes or use your own and make your way through it, changing links and cpanel tags as needed.
DO NOT create an actual account on the server to act as a demo. This is a security hazard and if we find this being done we will remove the account immediately, which in turn will result in your potential clients not being able to view the demo. _________________ HostOnNet.com - Reseller Hosting
