In terms of reliability, easy to use, speed and functionalities, there is no significant difference between Windows and Linux/Unix servers. Both platforms can serve your hosting needs well. However, the price for Linux/Unix servers are generally lower than Windows servers because most of software licenses used on Linux/Unix servers are free.

If you use Microsoft's proprietary technologies such Active Server Pages (ASP), ASP.NET, MS Access databases and other related programs, then you may want to stick with Windows servers. Otherwise, you can choose either one.
